Overview

The Systems Engineer / Infrastructure Analyst role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The Infrastructure Analyst will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

What You Will Do

• Perform tactical duties related to operations including, but not limited to:
• Assist in designing and implementing new server, storage and core systems solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current infrastructure.
• Installing, configuring and supporting infrastructure equipment including physical and virtual servers, storage, backup and recovery, and core software solutions.
• Procuring infrastructure equipment and managing subcontractors involved with installation.
• Configuring physical and virtual systems maximize efficiency and security.
• Maximizing system performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Arranging scheduled upgrades.
• Investigating faults in the systems, working with team, plan and/or implement to resolve faults.
• Updating systems equipment to the latest firmware/OS/driver releases, keeping systems up to date with supportable and stable releases.
• Reporting system status, stability and treads to key stakeholders.
• Other duties and tasks, as well as involvement with other IT projects, as required and assigned.

What You Will Bring

• Working experience and strong technical knowledge in of multi-site networking environments both on premises and cloud services.
• Working experience networks, windows server environments, virtual server environments.
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
• Post-secondary school education with Information Technology related certifications, diploma and/or degree.
• Minimum of three (3) years working related experience in a medium to large environment. IT support in the supply chain, logistics, and/or transportation industry an asset.
• Ability to work in a team environment, with strong emphasis on following procedures, sharing best practices and documentation creation and upkeep.
• Good to Have: Industry intermediate level certifications such as Microsoft, VMware and/or other core infrastructure solutions.
